Requirements for BINGE
Connectivity Requirements
For maximum speeds of 2 Gbps on a single computer, you will need the following:
- A desktop computer with available PCIe expansion slot, or a desktop or laptop with a Thunderbolt™ 3 port and a Thunderbolt™ 3 Expansion box
- A 10G PCIe network interface controller (NIC) adapter with a Copper 10G ethernet port or a small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) cage
- 10G NIC with a small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) cage required an installed SFP+ 10G 10GBASE-T RJ45 Transceiver
- A Category 6A (CAT6A) Ethernet patch cable
To achieve maximum speeds of 2 Gbps on more than one of your devices connected to the fiber handoff, you will need a compatible router or firewall with throughput of 2 Gbps (or greater) along with the following:
- A 10G router or firewall with a 10G port capable of serving as a WAN/ISP port
- 10G router WAN/ISP port must be either a RJ45 Copper 10G ethernet port or a small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) cage with an installed SFP+ 10G 10GBASE-T RJ45 Transceiver
- Each additional device that requires 2Gbps speed will require an additional 10G RJ45 port on the router
- All of the additional equipment from the single computer requirements for each connected computer to reach 2 Gbps from the router or firewall. The actual number of devices and configurations supported varies by the brand and model of the router or firewall.
