2021

716 Ministries becomes Greenlight Networks first community partnership in Buffalo, NY., as Greenlight turns up residential fiber Internet service in Erie County.

2021

Greenlight Networks completed the acquisition of Plexicomm, LLC- a Binghamton-based Internet solutions provider, accelerating Greenlight’s entry into Broome and Tioga counties.

Greenlight Networks Ranks #22 on 2020 Rochester Chamber Top 100 List of Fastest-Growing, Privately Owned Companies.

2020

Greenlight opened a new state-of-the-art, 20,000 square-foot headquarters building in Henrietta, NY, pledged to create 93 new jobs.

2020

Greenlight ranks in the top third at No. 1355 on of Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies.

2019

Greenlight and LeChase Construction announce a joint venture for the construction and build-out of Greenlight’s fiber-optic network, further accelerating its ability to expand.

Greenlight was recognized by Broadband Now as the #1 Fastest Internet and #1 Fastest Fiber Provider in New York State.

2018

Paychex Founder, Tom Golisano, becomes the majority investor in Greenlight Networks, providing the resources for the company to expand its high-speed broadband network further and faster.

2018

Impact Capital invests in Greenlight, led by managing partner Tom Bonadio, becomes the second-largest investor in Greenlight Networks.

2017

Greenlight Networks first-named Rochester’s Best Internet Service Provider by readers of the Rochester Business Journal and has been honored with this distinction every year since.

2016

Greenlight grows and moves into new office space at 1255 University Avenue, across the street from popular restaurants including The Revelry, Blades and The Sawmill.

2015

Greenlight Networks lowers the price of gigabit internet to $100, a 60% price decrease offering the highest speeds at the lowest price.

2015

Digital Rochester honors Greenlight Networks with the Rising Star Award for being the first to implement gigabit Internet speed in the area.

2014

Greenlight opens its first office in East Rochester in the Techniplex building 300 Main Street.

Construction begins on Meadowbrook in Brighton, NY

Construction was completed in the Pittsford Village Greenlight district and the first residential customers went live with Greenlight’s fiber-fast Internet service.

2011

Construction begins on Erie Harbor, located at 275 Mt Hope Avenue in Rochester, NY, becomes the first multi-dwelling unit powered by Greenlight Networks.

Greenlight Networks was founded on July 29, 2011, in Penfield, NY by Mark Murphy, becoming the first fiber-to-the-home company and the first to offer gigabit speeds in the area.

FIBER INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

As our Fiber Installation Technician, you will be one of the initial points of contacts for our customers ensuring they experience a seamless installation process ensuring the highest level of customer experience is exceeded by providing an ultra-high-speed internet service.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Cabling testing and documentation (all media types)
  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems and networks.
  • Working with optical fiber, etc. including performing all cable pulling, suspension, fiber terminating, and testing in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations.
  • Working as part of a collaborative team to ensure premiere service to our business and residential customers

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent teamwork ability and customer service skills
  • Minimum of one-year installation experience required
  • Basic understanding of fiber optics cabling and splicing
  • Basic computer & home networking skills; basic electronic audio/video knowledge is helpful
  • Ability to properly use all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks-including Drills, Cable Cutters, Splicers, Hammer Drill
  • A high standard of work ethics with an ability to perform all work in a neat and quality manner
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and requirements including wearing all forms of PPE
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions including all weather conditions
  • Must have great work ethic and be trainable
  • Work aloft and in close spaces up to 30ft in ladder, or hand climb utility poles using gaffs; work in manholes.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds consistently.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Valid NYS Driver License is required, pre-employment drug test, security license verification
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; college or technical/vocational school a plus
  • Ability to read a print and follow color coordinated routings
