On Thursday, July 23, Greenlight Networks was proud to partner with Ross Park Zoo to host Free Admissions Day, welcoming families and community members from across the Greater Binghamton region for a day of fun, connection, and exploration.
The event was a tremendous success, attracting a record-breaking 2,920 guests, making it the highest-attended day in Ross Park Zoo history, according to Ross Park Zoo Executive Director Phillip Ginter. From opening through closing, thousands of visitors enjoyed the opportunity to experience one of the area’s most treasured attractions free of charge, reinforcing Greenlight Networks’ commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.
How Did Greenlight Networks and Ross Park Zoo Celebrate the Day?
The day began with a press conference held prior to the zoo’s opening, drawing coverage from local media outlets and community leaders. Remarks were delivered by Vincenzo Scarapicchia and Dan English of Greenlight Networks, Phillip Ginter, Executive Director of Ross Park Zoo, and Broome County Executive Jason Garnar.
During the press conference, Jason Garnar presented Greenlight Networks with a proclamation recognizing the company’s 15th anniversary, commemorating 15 years of connecting communities and supporting local initiatives throughout New York State.
The event also received additional exposure through pre-event interviews with local television stations WBNG and WICZ, helping spread the word and encourage community participation.
What Family Fun Activities Happened Throughout the Zoo?
In addition to free admission, guests enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the day. One of the most popular attractions was face painting provided by Kings Creation Face Painting, where children and families transformed into their favorite animals and colorful characters before exploring the zoo.
With beautiful summer weather and a packed schedule of exhibits and animal encounters, the zoo was filled with excitement as nearly 3,000 guests spent the day creating memories with family and friends.
