ROCHESTER, N.Y. (July 29, 2026) – Greenlight Networks (“Greenlight”), a leading fiber-to-the-home provider, today celebrates its 15th anniversary, marking a milestone that reflects more than a decade of expanding high-speed fiber internet access across the Northeast. Founded on July 29, 2011, by CEO Mark Murphy, Greenlight has grown from a local startup into a regional broadband provider serving more than 320,000 homes and businesses throughout New York, Pennsylvania, and most recently, Maryland.
To commemorate the occasion, Greenlight hosted a celebration this morning at its Rochester headquarters alongside representatives from Greater Rochester Enterprise, the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and Monroe County. During the event, Ana Liss, Monroe County’s Director of Planning and Economic Development, on behalf of Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, presented the company with a proclamation recognizing Greenlight’s 15 years of innovation, investment and commitment to the communities it serves.
“Dependable and affordable connectivity has become an important part of attracting businesses, workers, and families to Monroe County. Greenlight has helped drive that transformation by investing substantial private capital, expanding consumer choice, and bring faster, more affordable service to neighborhoods throughout our community,” said Ana Liss, Monroe County’s Chief Economic Development Officer and Director of Planning and Economic Development.
“Fifteen years ago, I set out with a simple mission: to connect communities by delivering the best internet experience and providing customers the freedom to work, play, and live without limits. While our footprint has grown across the Northeast, what hasn’t changed is our commitment to the communities we serve,” said Mark Murphy, Founder and CEO at Greenlight Networks. “Fiber is what we build, but connecting people, creating opportunity, and investing in local communities is what drives us. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with the customers, employees, partners, and communities who have been part of our journey.”
Strategic investments from entrepreneur Tom Golisano, followed by the support of Oak Hill Capital, have fueled the company’s growth and network expansion. Over the years, Greenlight has grown from its Rochester roots to serve communities across New York, including Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo and the Hudson Valley. More recently, Greenlight extended its reach beyond New York with major expansion efforts in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Driven by strong customer demand and supported by ongoing private investment, Greenlight continues to bring high-speed fiber internet to more communities seeking greater choice, increased competition and reliable, future-ready connectivity.
Growth by disciplined acquisition has been an integral part of Greenlight’s business strategy. The acquisitions of Loop Internet and FastBridge Fiber accelerated the deployment of Greenlight’s state-of-the-art fiber network, while strengthening its local presence in key markets in New York State and Pennsylvania. The Loop acquisition added a Scranton office to its Pennsylvania footprint, and with its recent acquisition of FastBridge, which closed earlier this month, Greenlight raised its employee count to approximately 370 employees. Additionally, the combination strengthened Greenlight’s operational hub in Buffalo, New York while adding new operational hubs through FastBridge’s existing Wyomissing, Williamsport, and Robesonia office locations.
In April, T-Mobile announced a new joint venture with Oak Hill Capital that will soon combine GoNetspeed and Greenlight Networks. The move will further fuel expansion and growth across key Northeastern markets.
Greenlight’s industry leading customer loyalty reflects more than the quality of its fiber network – it is rooted in the company’s commitment to the communities it serves. That commitment extends well beyond internet service. As the company has grown, so has its investment in the communities it serves through sponsorships of local nonprofits, schools, community events, zoos, neighborhood organizations, and other initiatives that strengthen the places its customers call home.
