ROCHESTER, NY (NOV. 28, 2023) – Greenlight Networks, the leading provider of high-speed fiber internet services in New York State, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Newcomb as Chief Network Officer. Newcomb, a respected cable executive and leader in innovative technology solutions, will provide oversight and accountability for Greenlight’s construction, engineering, and network operations projects statewide and beyond, as the company scales for continued network growth. With his extensive experience leading technology transformations, Newcomb will help Greenlight Networks deliver the best internet experience possible to more families and communities.

Newcomb brings a wealth of industry expertise and financial acumen to Greenlight. He spent most of his career serving in executive roles for companies like Comcast and Time Warner Cable, most recently serving as Comcast’s Division Vice President of Engineering for the Northeast Division. Newcomb has led strategy and execution for various departments including providing oversight to teams dedicated to addressability, architecture, broadcast engineering, construction, critical facilities, capacity planning, deployment, network engineering, IT, plant maintenance, transport, software development and video engineering. He has a strong background in system and network design, creating operating models that improve efficiency and reliability.
