To order business fiber internet from Greenlight, check your address at order.greenlightnetworks.com, choose one of four speed tiers, add extras like a static IP or managed Wi-Fi, and pick an installation window. There is no contract to sign, and you are not charged anything until your service is connected and working.
Since 2011, Greenlight Networks has connected more than 100,000 homes and businesses across New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Our small business plans are built for teams of one to 20 people, with symmetrical speeds from 500 Mbps to 8 Gig. This is part two of our small business series. If you are still deciding whether to switch, start with How Do I Get Started With Greenlight Business Internet?
Once an owner decides to switch, the questions change. It stops being “should we?” and becomes “what exactly are we buying, and what will it cost on day one?” Below are the four ordering questions our Small Business team hears most, with direct answers you can use to place your order with confidence.

What information do I need to place a Greenlight business order?
Have five things ready:
Your exact service address, including any suite or unit number.
An on-site contact who will be there on installation day.
Your preferred speed tier.
Any add-ons, such as a static IP or Total Managed Wi-Fi.
A few installation windows that work around your business hours. If you lease your space, loop in your landlord early.
The suite or unit number matters more than most owners expect. Greenlight builds, owns, and operates its own fiber network, so availability is confirmed street by street and building by building. A plaza with six storefronts may be serviceable at one end before the other.
On installation day, someone 18 or older needs to be on site to let the technician in and decide where equipment goes. Think about that placement ahead of time. The fiber line ends at a small box called an ONT, and your router plugs into it, so the ideal spot is close to where your network equipment already lives.
The Greenlight Business Order Checklist
We built this checklist from the questions that most often slow down business orders. Gather these items before you start, and your order can move straight from quote to scheduling.

If you rent in a multi-tenant building, Greenlight also offers options for commercial buildings and multi-dwelling properties. Your property manager can talk with our team directly, which often speeds things up.
Which Greenlight business plan should I order?
Choose your plan based on how many devices you connect and how heavily you rely on the cloud. Basic (500 Mbps) supports up to 20 smart devices, Fast (1 Gig) handles 20 or more, Faster (2 Gig) fits 30 or more, and Fastest (8 Gig) supports 45 or more. Fast is our most popular business tier.
Every tier delivers the same speed for uploads and downloads. That matters for businesses, because cloud backups, security cameras, and video calls all push data out, not just in. Each plan also includes no data caps and 24/7/365 support.

How do I count my devices before ordering?
Count every device that connects to your network at your busiest hour, not an average hour. Include computers, POS terminals, printers, VoIP phones, security cameras, staff phones, and smart devices like thermostats or speakers. If you offer guest Wi-Fi, add the number of customers who are typically connected at peak times.
Here is how that math works out for three common types of small businesses. These examples are illustrative, based on Greenlight’s published device guidance for each tier.
Business type
|
Peak device count
|
Suggested starting tier
|
Two-person accounting office (2 computers, 1 printer, 2 VoIP phones, 2 staff phones, 1 backup drive)

|

Fast (1 Gig)
|
Ten-person dental office (10 workstations, 1 imaging system, 10 VoIP phones, 4 cameras, 10 staff phones, about 8 patient devices)
|
43
|

Do not stress about getting it perfect. Greenlight business plans are month to month, so you can upgrade or downgrade at any time without a termination fee. Many owners start with the tier that fits today and move up when they hire or add equipment.
Not sure which tier fits your team? Book a free consultation with a Small Business Specialist who will size your plan to your real device count and budget, with no obligation to buy.
What add-ons can I include in my Greenlight business order?
You can build a static IP, VoIP phone service, and Total Managed Wi-Fi into your Greenlight business order. One static IP is included with every business plan. Total Managed Wi-Fi is available for select businesses, and your Small Business Specialist can quote your plan and add-ons together so you see one complete price before you commit.
Adding these at the time of your order is easier than adding them later. Your technician can set everything up in a single visit, and your quote shows the full monthly cost up front.

Static IP
|
Gives your business an internet address that never changes

Remote access, VPNs, hosted services, and remote camera viewing
|

|

|
Offices replacing traditional landlines
|
Total Managed Wi-Fi
|
Professionally designed, installed, and supported Wi-Fi for your space
|
Shops, offices, and restaurants that want strong coverage without dead zones
|
Do I need a static IP for my business?
You need a static IP if any system has to reach your network from the outside at a fixed address. Common examples include remote desktop access, VPNs for employees working from home, hosted websites or servers, and security camera systems you check from your phone. Some security protocols and applications also require a static IP to configure properly.
If none of those apply today, the static IP included with your plan still gives you room to grow. Businesses that need more than one can ask their specialist during the consultation.
Should I order Total Managed Wi-Fi or use my own router?
Order Total Managed Wi-Fi if you want Greenlight to design, install, and support your wireless network. If you bring your own router, it needs to handle fiber speeds of 1 Gig or more, and Greenlight cannot troubleshoot hardware it did not supply. Installation takes under 1 hour for fiber alone and under 2 hours with Total Managed Wi-Fi.
For customer-facing spaces, managed Wi-Fi is often worth it. A dead zone by the register or in the back dining room turns into slow card transactions and frustrated guests, and one support number for both your internet and your Wi-Fi removes the finger-pointing between vendors.
What will my first Greenlight business bill look like?
Your first Greenlight business invoice includes three items: a one-time setup charge, prorated service from your installation date through the end of that month, and your second month of service paid in advance. Nothing is charged until your service is connected and working, and your monthly rate does not jump after 12 months.
That structure surprises some owners, because the first invoice is larger than the ones that follow. Knowing the math ahead of time makes budgeting simple.

How does my installation date change my first bill?
Your installation date changes only the prorated portion of your first bill. A business that installs on the 1st of the month pays close to two full months of service on its first invoice, plus setup. A business that installs near the end of the month pays just over one month, plus setup.
In other words, your first invoice will always fall between roughly one and two months of service plus the setup charge. After that, every bill is one predictable monthly amount. There is no promotional rate that doubles in year two, no contract, and no termination fee if your needs change.
If construction in your district takes longer than expected, you do not pay in the meantime. Billing starts only once your service is connected and working.
Frequently Asked Questions About Ordering Greenlight Business Internet
Can I order Greenlight business internet online?
Yes. Start by entering your business address at order.greenlightnetworks.com to confirm availability. From there, you can move forward with your order or book a free 15-minute consultation with a Small Business Specialist to finalize your plan and add-ons. Many owners use the consultation to get a written quote before ordering.
Can I place an order if my address is still under construction?
Yes. If Greenlight is actively building fiber in your district, you can place your order now. You will get an email when construction finishes and installation scheduling opens. You are not charged while you wait.
Can I change my plan after I place my order?
Yes. All Greenlight business plans are month to month, so you can upgrade or downgrade your speed tier at any time. There are no contracts and no termination fees, which makes it easy to adjust as your team grows or your season slows.
Can I order service for a location I am moving into?
Yes, as long as the new address is serviceable. Place your order about six weeks before your move-in date, since activation in a serviceable district typically takes 4 to 6 weeks from order. That timing helps your internet, phones, and POS system work on opening day.
How do I reschedule my installation appointment?
Contact Greenlight by phone or chat to change your appointment. If your appointment is less than 24 hours away, call or chat rather than emailing so the change is made in time. You will also get a reminder the day before your appointment.
Who do I contact to place a business order?
Email business@greenlightnetworks.com. You can also book a free consultation online at any time.
