Students Start Semester with 100x Faster Internet Speeds!

ROCHESTER, NY – February 2, 2017 – The Diocese of Rochester Catholic Schools and Greenlight Networks, an ultra-high-speed, broadband service provider, today announced a partnership to provide a fiber optic, Gigabit Internet service for Siena Catholic Academy in Brighton.

Siena Catholic Academy is historically known for the progressive technology influenced curriculum provided to its students. They were one of the first schools selected for the Google Expeditions Pioneer program. The school’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative and its cutting-edge use of cloud-based applications to enhance learning have placed demands on the system that will only become more apparent as the school’s enrollment continues to grow.

“The increased Internet speed provided by Greenlight Networks will enable students to more successfully and efficiently access cloud-based applications,” said Dr. Anthony Cook, Superintendent of Diocese of Rochester Catholic Schools.”

“The additional bandwidth will create opportunities for interactive programs to be included within the curriculum. This distinguishes Siena as Rochester’s leading tech savvy campus for middle school students,” added Cook.

“We’re so excited to see what will happen when students and faculty have access to virtually unlimited bandwidth,” said Mark Murphy, president of Greenlight Networks. “Offering state-of-the-art technology is critical to the success of our young people, and we are proud to help enhance education in our community.”

Greenlight Networks offers internet speeds up to 100 times faster than the average American household is receiving. The company provides fiber optic internet service to businesses, apartment complexes and residential neighborhoods. In addition to Siena Catholic Academy, Greenlight Networks also provides Internet services to a number of Diocese of Rochester facilities, including St. Louis School in Pittsford, NY.
